The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting death investigation.
On Sunday, August 4, 2024 at approximately 12:15 a.m., the male Hispanic adult suspect confronted the victim, a female Hispanic adult, and a male adult at a residence in Lancaster. The suspect produced a firearm and shot one round into the male adult’s residence. There were no injuries at this time.
The suspect and victim, who are believed to have been an estranged couple, left the location together in the victim’s vehicle. They were involved in a verbal argument and stopped their vehicle at the location of East Avenue H and Challenger Way, in the city of Lancaster. At approximately 12:29 a.m. , while involved in a verbal argument, the suspect and victim exited the vehicle. The suspect again produced the firearm and shot the victim, killing her. The suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle, leaving the deceased victim at the scene.
At approximately 2:09 a.m., the suspect drove to a member of the victim’s family residence in Palmdale. The suspect attempted suicide while in the victim’s vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect is currently listed under critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
