INCIDENT: PC 187 - Murder
LOCATION: 12400 Block of San Jacinto Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Donnie Griffin, 50-years-old, Resident of Victorville
VICTIM 1: Cody McFann, 35-years-old, Resident of Hesperia
VICTIM 2: Melissa Quintero, 39-years-old, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 9:18 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to a residence in the 12400 block of San Jacinto Drive for the report of a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they learned a verbal argument between the suspect, Donnie Griffin, and his family escalated into Griffin assaulting his family. The two victims, Cody McFann and Melissa Quintero, arrived at the location during the family altercation, and a physical altercation occurred between them and Griffin. Following the altercation, Griffin armed himself with a firearm and chased after McFann and Quintero. Griffin shot and killed McFann and Quintero and fled the location. McFann and Quintero were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. Through investigation, detectives learned Griffin was at a residence in Las Vegas and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Homicide detectives, along with Las Vegas Metro Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Office, arrested Griffin. Griffin was booked in at a jail in Las Vegas and awaits extradition to California.
