INCIDENT: DROWNING
LOCATION: Deep Creek Spillway
VICTIM: Edin Hernandez Reyes, 19 years of age, resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 4:09 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call at the Deep Creek Spillway.
Edin Hernandez Reyes was at the Deep Creek Spillway swimming with family. For unknown reasons, Edin drowned in the water and was pulled to shore. Good Samaritans started CPR on Edin until deputies arrived. Deputies continued CPR until medical personnel arrived and took over life saving efforts. Edin was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
