Please limit all non-essential travel/ stay off roads to allow clearing; Allegheny County declared State of Emergency

Due to the extreme weather conditions, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police is strongly advising people to remain indoors if it is not an absolute necessity to leave their home. Police and first responder vehicles are also hampered by the conditions and response time may take a little longer than normal. It is also important that we ensure the safety of our first responders so that we can assist the public effectively.

The PBP ask that if you have an emergency, please call 911. However, if you have a situation that is a non-emergency but may require police assistance, we ask for your patience. In these types of conditions first responder calls are prioritized in their order of emergency importance.

With Allegheny County having been declared a State of Emergency, we ask that any non essential travel be suspended so the Department of Public Works crews can begin clearing the roads as conditions permit.
