Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) has concluded its tactical response regarding the barricaded armed suspect at the 1200 Block of Caldwell Street, Compton.
Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) personnel established communication with the suspect. The suspect refused to cooperate. Chemical agents were deployed, and the suspect surrendered.
The area was deemed safe and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) personnel are responding to assist Compton Sheriff Station with a barricaded assault with a deadly weapon suspect. The incident was reported on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., on the 1200 block of Caldwell Street, in the city of Compton.
SEB personnel will assume tactical command and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is attempting to make contact with the suspect to bring this to a peaceful conclusion.
The surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.
