On Thursday, March 14, 2024, deputies from Lancaster Station responded to the 44000 block of Division Street, in the city of Lancaster regarding a man down call.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult lying in a dirt lot at the location. The male had obvious signs of death and was pronounced dead on scene at 0913 hours.
The male was identified as 38-year-old Francisco Nunez of Lancaster.
Homicide investigators along with an investigator from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office were notified and responded to the location.
A preliminary investigation at the scene revealed no signs of foul play nor were any signs of apparent trauma found on Mr. Nunez.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, an autopsy was performed on Mr. Nunez. No obvious signs of trauma were found on Mr. Nunez by the medical examiner. Cause of death has been deferred pending the return of toxicology results.
This case is being handled as a death investigation.
