*Alert* Robbery- Maxatawny Crime Watch

The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department, under the direction of Chief of Police Michael Weiser, is continuing an active investigation involving a robbery that occurred at 15518 Kutztown Rd., Maxatawny Township (Berks County). This incident occurred at 6:42 pm on February 3, 2010. During the robbery, a male entered the store and insinuated to the clerk that he had a weapon hidden in his pocket. The male then demanded money from the register. After receiving the money, he then fled east towards Long Lane. There were no injuries associated with this incident.
The suspect in this incident was described as being a white male in his 20’s. The male, who was about 5’8”, had a thin build and was wearing a black winter jacket and a brown knit hat with a red stripe on it. The male was also wearing a black ski-type mask that partially blocked his face.
The Berks-Lehigh Regional Department’s investigation of this incident is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed this event, or has any information regarding the suspect, is asking to contact BLRPD at 610-683-8740.
