Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation in the circumstances surrounding the death investigation of a male Juvenile.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at approximately 10:55 PM.
Homicide Investigators are handling this incident as a homicide investigation.
The victim sustained a laceration to his neck.
The remaining three children in the home, who were unharmed, were taken into protective custody by the Department of Children and Family Services.
The adult male who was transported to a local hospital after suffering a medical emergency was identified as 39-year-old, Rena Naulls of Lancaster, and the live-in boyfriend of the victim’s mother. Mr. Naulls was transported to a local hospital after attempting to take his own life at the location. Mr. Naulls was admitted to the hospital and listed in stable condition. Mr. Naulls has been identified as a person of interest in this matter.
No arrest(s) have been made at this time.

NARRATIVE:
Deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded to the 43400 block of 57th Street W in Lancaster regarding a medical rescue call.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male juvenile with a laceration to the upper torso. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
A male adult discovered at the location also suffered a medical emergency. He was transported to a local hospital and in stable condition.
At this time, no arrest has been made.
