The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Coffee with a Cop” day. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community. Join us Tuesday, February 27th, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at the indoor Oaks Mall Norstrom Ebar Artisan Coffee, Starbucks, 346 W. Hillcrest Dr, Thousand Oaks, sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors. This month, our youth Police Explorers will be joining us as well! The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office provides a Law Enforcement Explorer program to educate and involve the youth of the community in police operations and interest them in law enforcement functions whether they aspire to enter police work or not. The Explorer program establishes an awareness of the complexities of police services and broadens an Explorer’s firsthand knowledge of the challenges and job skills that make up our communities’ police services. Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, and the community members they serve, can continue building and growing together. The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites the community to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and is not about speeches or agendas, but simply about casual conversation. The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to get to know the community better and hear about issues the residents feel are important. Building relationships – one cup at a time. |
