Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male juvenile.
Deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to the 700 block of West Corregidor Street in the city of Compton regarding a gunshot victim call.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2023, at approximately 5:25PM.
When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, a Black male juvenile, 16 years of age, had been transported to a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Investigators also located male adult Victim at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
It’s believed both victims were involved in a physical altercation when a male suspect opened fire on them.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently there is no additional information.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. The victim was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
