Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult in the city of Compton.
Deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of McMillan Street and Lime Avenue in the city of Compton regarding a Gun Shot Victim call for service.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at approximately 2:00 P.M.
When deputies arrived, they located the victim, a Black male, 23 years of age, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso. The victim was located in the alley south of McMillan Street, west of Lime Avenue. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and treated the victim. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further south in the alley, deputies discovered a second victim, a Black male, 22 years of age, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for his gunshot wound and is currently in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting appear to be gang-related. Both victims were on foot during this drive-by shooting.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information available at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there is no additional information available.
