Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male Hispanic adult who was approximately 80-years-old. On Friday, October 27, 2023, at approximately 4:40 a.m., deputies from Carson Sheriff’s Station responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Just Occurred” call on the 1000 block of West 227th Street, in the Unincorporated area of Torrance.
When Carson deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the victim unresponsive inside the residence. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel also responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim’s grandson, a male Hispanic in his 30’s, was detained at the scene as a person of interest.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. The investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.
