#LASD Homicide Detectives Responded to Assist Bell PD w/ an Officer Involved Shooting Inv., 5000 block of Rickenbacker Rd., #Bell
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding an officer involved shooting that occurred in the city of Bell.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at approximately 3:20 pm.
Bell Police Department Officers responded to the 5000 block of Rickenbacker Road, in the city of Bell, regarding a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, the suspect (male Hispanic adult) produced a knife and advanced toward an officer, at which time, an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was struck by gunfire. He was treated on scene and transported to a local area hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
A knife was recovered at the scene.

The suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
No deputies were injured during the incident.
