Tropical Storm Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm advisory for San Diego. Rainfall may begin Saturday evening, August 19th, with the brunt of the rain occurring Sunday through Monday, August 21st. The high wind advisory is effective from Sunday, August 20th, through Monday, August 21st. Expect heavy rains, high surf, and sustained winds of 10 to 20 MPH gusting to 45 MPH. POTENTIAL IMPACT: Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 45 MPH. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, power outages may result, and areas may be flooded.
PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: All employees are reminded to prepare for heavy rain weather, drive safely, and expect traffic delays. All employees should look around work areas/residences and secure unsecured objects.
Instructions:
National City residents may retrieve up to 10 sandbags from The National City Fire Department located at 343 E. 16th Street with proof of residency. Sand will be located at the Kimball parking lot on D Avenue next to the Boys and Girls Club. Please bring a shovel to fill sandbags.
