2023-08-03 Okanogan County Courthouse Emergency Closure UPDATE 
UPDATE for Thursday, August 3, 2023
The Okanogan County Courthouse was closed all day August 3rd, 2023 after an unidentified substance was found in the Auditor’s Office on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Washington State Patrol, and the FBI. There are no injuries to those employees that were involved.
The Courthouse will continue to be CLOSED tomorrow, August 4th, 2023 and is tentatively scheduled to open Monday, August 7th, 2023.
Due to the situation the next Election count will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
The offices CLOSED include the Assessors, Auditor, Clerks, and Treasurer.
If you have proceedings scheduled for Okanogan County Superior Court:
All Superior Court, court proceedings will occur as scheduled for August 4, 2023. Court Staff will be outside the Courthouse to direct all parties and public to the appropriate Court Rooms. The Court Facilitator’s Office will be CLOSED.
If you have proceedings scheduled for Okanogan County District Court:
All District Court offices and courtrooms in the courthouse will be closed on Friday, August 4th, 2023.
District Court will not have access to phones or email during the closure.
Out-of-custody criminal matters scheduled for Friday will be continued to Monday, August 7th, 2023, at 1:30 PM.
In-custody criminal matters scheduled for Friday will occur Friday, August 4th, at 9:30 AM, in the Jail Courtroom as the Court has been notified that courtroom is safe.
All other Okanogan County offices not in the courthouse will be open.
