**UPDATE #2** LASD Major Crimes Bureau Attempt to Locate: Possible Kidnapping #Commerce

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Major Crimes Bureau (MCB) advises the female victim involved in the incident on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 was found safe and unharmed. She is being questioned by detectives for more information regarding the incident. 
 
The suspect is identified as William Garcia, a 32 year-old male Hispanic who is a resident of Commerce.
 
More information will be provided when it becomes available by MCB.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Major Crimes Bureau have arrested the primary suspect in the kidnapping incident that occured in the City of Commerce on 04/25/2023. 

A male Hispanic adult was taken into custody at approximately 2 PM and is being charged with Kidnapping and Abduction. 

The suspect's vehicle has been recovered as evidence.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are attempting to locate the victim.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Major Crimes Bureau is investigating a possible kidnapping which occurred on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.  The possible suspect, victim, and vehicle are outstanding.
 
On April 25, 2023, at approximately 4:20 p.m, a male Hispanic adult exited a silver Kia Rio, possibly a 2016-2017 model, in the 2200 block of Couts Avenue in the city of Commerce. The male approached the victim, a female adult with dark brownish red hair, wearing a black dress and sandals, who was running northbound along Couts Avenue.  The female appeared to be running from the male and attempting to hide. 
 
The male, who was armed with a handgun, struck the female with the handgun, and forced her into the passenger side of the vehicle.  The vehicle was last seen travelling southbound on Cowlin Avenue.
 
The investigation is ongoing and investigators are still searching for the male, female, and vehicle.
