Three Suspects Arrested after Thefts from the Factory Outlets

Over the weekend, PPD officers received two significant theft reports at the Petaluma Factory Outlets. In total, three subjects (all from outside of Sonoma County) were arrested.

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at approximately 7:46 pm, the Petaluma Police Department received a robbery report at the Aeropostale. Officers responded to the scene and were informed a female subject had stolen approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise. While the female subject was leaving the store, she shoved an employee who was attempting to stop her. Luckily, the employee was uninjured during the incident. Officers arrived on scene and located a female subject matching the suspect description. The female subject was identified as Alyssa Hunsucker (Eureka, 30). Hunsucker was contacted and determined to be responsible for the robbery. She was arrested and later found to be in possession of 3.6 ounces of suspected fentanyl. Hunsucker was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for charges including robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

On Sunday, April 23, 2023, at approximately 6:23 pm, the Petaluma Police Department received a theft report at Nike.  Officers responded to the scene and were informed a male and female had worked in tandem and took over $700 worth of merchandise. The two subjects left in a vehicle prior to officers’ arrival on scene. A short time later, an officer located a vehicle matching the provided description on Highway 101 headed out of town. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants who matched the description of the involved parties. Ultimately, both occupants of the vehicle were arrested; the female was identified as Danielle Edwards (San Francisco, 41) and the male was identified as Matthew Rabbitt (47, San Francisco).  During a search of the vehicle, officers located stolen property, narcotics, and burglary tools. Edwards provided a false name to officers during the initial contact; it was later determined Edwards had three outstanding arrest warrants, two of which were felonies. Rabbitt was found to be on active parole for burglary. Both Edwards and Rabbit were booked into the Sonoma County Jail for several charges including the original theft.
