#LASD Major Crimes Bureau Burglary-Robbery Task Force Arrested Home Invasion Robbery Crew

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Major Crimes Bureau learned of a home invasion robbery that occurred in the city of Diamond Bar.  Over $22,000 of cash and property was stolen by the suspects as the victims (elderly married couple) were forced into their living room at gunpoint, and had shirts placed over their heads.  Detectives responded and were able to identify the vehicle (Black Acura) used as the suspects’ get-a-way car.  After extensive investigation, detectives were able to positively identify Rynell Verdin, Arturo Gonzalez, and Mattron Brown as their suspects in the robbery.

On April 5, 2023, in the early morning hours, after obtaining a search warrant for each of the suspects’ residences, multiple teams from Major Crimes Bureau served location search warrants in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties.

The execution of three location search warrants resulted in the recovery of numerous items of evidence being recovered.  Approximately $17,000 cash, three (3) illegally possessed firearms, personal items belonging to the victims, as well clothing and ski masks worn during the robbery were recovered.  All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Walnut Sheriff’s Station where they were booked on robbery charges.  They are being held without bail, with a next court date of April 7, 2023, at the Pomona Courthouse.

The investigation is ongoing in order to determine if this robbery crew is related to other home invasion robberies that have recently occurred in the Southern California Area.

The LASD Major Crimes Bureau (MCB) Burglary-Robbery Task Force (BRTF) was formed over ten years ago to combat the ever-increasing trend of organized crews who are committing residential burglaries along with violent robbery crime trends.  The MCB BRTF works closely in support of all LASD station’s detective bureaus, as well as other Southern California law enforcement agencies.  Residents and business owners are reminded to secure their properties, be aware of suspicious and unusual persons or vehicles, and to alert their local law enforcement immediately if suspicious activity is observed.

Residents should call 911 if a life-threatening emergency is detected and/or their local police business line if a suspicious person or vehicle is observed.  The MCB BRTF can be contacted via e-mail at [email protected] for tips, questions, or concerns.
