Deputies from Lancaster Sheriff Station responded to Tierra Bonita Park, 30th Street East and East Kettering Street, in the city of Lancaster. At approximately 8:31 pm they responded to a gun shot victim call for service. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim, a Hispanic male, 18 years old, lying near the gutter area suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Los Angeles County Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Early reports state the victim arrived at the park on his bike earlier in the day, and confronted a group of individuals at the same location. One of the unknown persons in the group fired several gunshots at the victim, striking him in the upper torso. The unknown persons were last seen fleeing through the park on foot, in an unknown direction.
