Officer Helps Citizens, Then Find Drugs & Paraphernalia: Arrest Made
On Saturday, January 23, 2010 Ptl. Joseph Reilly was patrolling the area of Lamington Road and Old Highway 28. The officer noticed two individuals standing off the roadway at the intersection of Old Highway 28 and Lamington Road. After speaking to Kurt Cortese and Karen Cortese police learned that their vehicle was disabled and offered them a ride to their residence. A search produced two Oxycotin pills on Karen Cortese’s person. A further search of Karen and her property produced several pieces of drug paraphernalia. Karen also had one outstanding warrant for failing to appear in Readington Township Court. She was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a schedule two narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia. Karen was released from police headquarters after she posted her own bail.
