Impersonating a Police Officer arrest, Williamsburg Drive.

Lower Paxton Police Officers on Wednesday January 20th at 8:00 PM were called to the 4200 block of Williamsburg Drive, reference to a man possibly impersonating a Police Officer.

In this case a W/M, knocked on a resident’s door and identified himself as a Police Officer. The W/M told the resident that there was loud music coming from the apartment and needed to turn the music down. The W/M had a gold colored badge hanging around his neck. The subject was not wearing any type of uniform. The resident was suspicious, due to the subject’s appearance and demeanor. The resident called 911.

Police responded and located the subject and later recovered a gold colored badge from his person. The badge had "Ranger" on it. The subject was not a Police Officer and was placed under arrest for Impersonating a Police Officer. The subject was released on summons.

We would remind the public, that plainclothes Police officers have authentic badges that say "Police" and carry official photo identification identifying them as a Police Officer. If asked, the officer will show you their photo ID. If there is still a question, call Police Dispatch at 911 and we can verify the officer’s identity.
