Join the Youth Advisory Commission

Residents between the ages of 13 and 18 can now apply to join the City of Hoboken's Youth Advisory Commission (YAC).

The YAC serves as an opportunity to encourage leadership development and advocacy for positive change in the community. Its purpose is to establish a working relationship between the City government and the community's youth by giving them a voice on issues that matter most to them and providing them with a mechanism to effectuate change on the issues they have identified.

The Commission will consist of 12 members who will be appointed by Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the City Council following an evaluation process.

Applicants must be residents of the City of Hoboken, students in 6th – 12th grade, and between the ages of 13 and 18 as of Sept. 1, 2021.

Applications are available at https://www.hobokennj.gov/municipal-boards. Applicants click "Apply Here" at the bottom of the page and the City Clerk's office will follow up with additional information.

The deadline to apply either online or at the City Clerk's Office is Wednesday, Dec. 1.
