Officers are at Vista Chino at the Wash and are awaiting street crews to close Vista Chino due to flooding. At this time, it is barely passable and motorists are advised to use an alternate route. The roadway is expected to be closed to all traffic within the hour.
At this time, all other roads in Palm Springs are open, but we will be monitoring Gene Autry Trail and Indian Canyon Drive in case we are forced to close those roads as well. This is a strong possibility if the rain continues.
Drivers are advised to use caution and allow extra time if travel is necessary.
