Bobcat Fire Update - September 7, 12:45 p.m. Duarte EOC is Open

At this time, there is 0 percent containment with 4,871 acres burned.

A temporary evacuation site for affected residents of the San Gabriel Valley has been opened at the Santa Anita Race Track (285 W Huntington Dr, Arcadia, CA 91007). The L.A. County Pomona Fair Grounds are open for large animal sheltering and are equipped to intake up to 200 horses.

The Duarte Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is open and preparing response plans if fire continues to threaten residents and move further south. There may be possible voluntary evacuations for everyone north of Deodar Lane within the City of Bradbury and Duarte which includes the Duarte Mesa. We ask that everyone in the Duarte Mesa area prepare for possible evacuations.


EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
  • Establish multiple family meeting spots (indoor, neighborhood, regional)
  • Have a family communication plan in place, including making sure your phone contacts are up to date
  • Make sure everyone in the family carries an ICE (in case of emergency) card
  • Make a go-bag for everyone in the family - don't forget the pets!
  • Keep important documents easily accessible
  • Have an emergency outfit ready to go (sturdy shoes, pants, shirt, jacket, hat, and gloves)
