Message from the Mayor and Chief of Police
Plumsted Township Residents:
As we continue to battle the uncharted waters of coronavirus, our community's numbers are increasing and some are battling this virus first hand. We are asking that you please follow the CDC guidelines and Governor Murphy's orders to STAY HOME. All agencies are tracking this the best they know how as this is something that has never before been seen. It is very important that we all continue to follow the guidelines that have been laid out for New Jerseyans to follow.
Again, we must continue to support our community during this time. Staying home and keeping that 6 feet social distancing is the best way. We remind you to only go out within the community for your essential items. If at any time you need our first responders, please contact either 911 or the non-emergency number (609)758-7185. Simply posting or tagging the police department on Facebook is not a sufficient way to report a crime; the department Facebook page is not monitored 24/7.
The Chief of Police is working closely with State, County and the Office of Emergency Management during this time. The Mayor and Chief Meroney's main goal is to ensure the safety of our community. As some of these measures may seem drastic, we want to ensure our community and Township employees are protected during this time.
Be Well,
Mayor Herb Marinari and Chief Earl Meroney
