City of Winter Springs COVID-19 Updates, Response, and Closures
The City of Winter Springs is monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and following guidance from the CDC, Seminole County officials, Florida Governor's Office, and the President of the United States.
The City is taking the following measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to prioritize the health and safety of our community and employees.
⚠️ At 12:01 a.m. on April 3, Governor Ron DeSantis' Safer-at-Home Executive Order went into effect for the State of Florida. To view the full Executive Order, visit https://bit.ly/346GgS0.
⚠️ At 12:00 a.m. on March 30, Seminole County's Social Distancing Executive Order went into effect for businesses and individuals of Seminole County. To view the full Executive Order, visit https://bit.ly/2X7zV7w.
⚠️ The City Hall lobby is closed to the general public until further notice. Customer service is still available at 407-327-1800. Residents can pay utility bills online, over the phone, or at our self-serve kiosk located in the City Hall parking lot. Additionally, all utility service disconnections have been temporarily suspended to deliver essential services. Our Permitting Division is now offering Virtual Inspections for permits. ⚠️ The Winter Springs Senior Center is closed until further notice. Civic Center, field, and park pavilion rentals have been cancelled through April 30, and we will not be accepting future rentals until further notice. Recreation classes, sports activities, and police programs are suspended until further notice.
⚠️ Explore Outdoors and Fish Winter Springs have been cancelled. The City's Tree Giveaway program will be rescheduled. Registration for Camp Sunshine Summer Camp is postponed until further notice. Recreation class, sports activities, and police programs are suspended until further notice.
⚠️ City park restrooms, playgrounds, basketball courts, and splash playgrounds are closed. City parks are open at this time for exercise and fresh air. However, continue to abide by Seminole County's Social Distancing Executive Order. In addition, Staff strongly recommends all users exercise caution when in any public area and continue to use elevated hygiene protocols.
⚠️ Residents should sort recyclables before placing curbside. Seminole County Solid Waste generally offers curbside sorting, but for the safety of collection crews, customers need to self-sort. Learn more at www.prepareseminole.org. Besides this special request, waste collection services will continue as scheduled.
⚠️ Interviewing and hiring has been suspended until further notice.
⚠️ Fingerprinting services are suspended at this time.
