RECREATION DEPARTMENT PROGRAM UPDATES
For Recreation Department sponsored programs that were just ending in March, we will make every attempt to make up the last class or two depending on when we can resume. All spring break camps 4/6-4/9 are cancelled and will be refunded. For programs that started mid-March, we are currently evaluating whether it’s feasible for these programs to resume and extend through June. As for programs about to start in April, we are currently evaluating whether the start date can be pushed forward. In the meantime, program registrations including Summer Camp registration is ongoing. Please see the Recreation Department’s Facebook page for updates.

• Senior House

The Senior House will be closed to the public until further notice. The only exception is the Morris County Nutrition Program. Pickup for the Meals on Wheels program will be coordinated by Nancy Mertz, Director of Social Services – (973) 331-3378.

• Meetings of Township Boards/Commissions/Committees (with the exception of the Township Committee)

All Montville Township official meetings of the boards/commissions/committees shall be canceled until further notice with the exception of the Township Committee who held their March 24 meeting via telephone and will continue to monitor the situation and reassess as necessary.

• Outside Organizations

All activities held by outside Montville Township organizations in Township buildings and facilities are canceled until further notice.

• Montville Township Library

The Library will remain closed until further notice.

• Montville Township Town Hall

Town Hall will remain closed until further notice. However, the Township continues to provide necessary services to the public. The essential services – Administration, Clerk, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Health, Land Use, Public Safety, Social Services, Tax Assessment, Tax Collection, and Water & Sewer Utilities - still function and are available through email, the website, telephone, through the Construction Department boxes located outside Town Hall front door, and through the yellow mailbox located in the parking lot at Town Hall. This request shall remain in effect until further notice.

At this point, it would be most beneficial to shelter in place, maintain your social distancing, practice proper hand washing, and stay calm and rational.
