Deputies conducted a vehicle stop and found the vehicle was embezzled & the driver was a felon in possession of a gun

DATE: March 25, 2020

INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 496D(A) – Possession of Stolen Vehicle

LOCATION: Archibald Avenue and Feron Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Darnell Causey, 26-years-old of Riverside

BAIL AMOUNT: $50,000

Summary:
On March 25, 2020, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle traveling northbound on Archibald Avenue. A records check revealed the vehicle had been embezzled. The driver, identified as Darnell Causey, was detained at the scene. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered a Glock 27 in the trunk of the vehicle. Causey was found to be a convicted felon and was in possession of a firearm. He was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center and released after posting $50,000 bail.
