Mayor Anthony Copeland and the East Chicago Public Works Department would like to inform all East Chicago residents of their trash collection schedule.
CITY OF EAST CHICAGO TRASH COLLECTION SCHEDULE
All residents are respectfully asked to put out their trash on MONDAY Mornings. All trash will be picked up within a 48 hour period.
With the exception of residents living in PRAIRE PARK, SUNNYSIDE AND MARKTOWN; trash collection in these areas are considered frontends and trash should be put out on WEDNESDAY Mornings.
Please place all garbage in trash bags, and then place your bags inside the provided trash receptacle. (NO LOOSE GARBAGE PLEASE!)
Please make your trash receptacle readily accessible. (City Employees are prohibited from entering private property.)

Please refrain from putting Hazardous Materials in the trash. Hence; motor oil, car batteries, aerosol paint cans and regular paint cans etc…for assistance with hazardous materials please contact the Lake County Hazardous Waste center at 219-853-2420.
