At this time, there have been zero positive cases of COVID-19 in Rutherford County. 83 individuals in the county have been tested. 35 tests have come back negative, 48 tests are still pending and 0 tests have come back positive. The reason for the delay on some of the test results is due to the large demand on the laboratories in the state. Rutherford Regional has instituted a No Visitor policy at the hospital. Furthermore all elective procedures at the hospital that are not deemed medically necessary will be pushed out at least thirty days. If you are symptomatic (fever, cough, shortness of breath) please call the COVID-19 Medical Screening Hotline at (828) 289-1185. The operator will ask a list of screening questions and will provide the caller with the appropriate medical instructions based upon the answers given. The hours of operation for this hotline are 8AM – 5PM, 7 days per week. The Emergency Operations Center encourages all citizens to practice social distancing and shelter at home whenever possible.
