On March 23, 2020, at 7:49 p.m., deputies responded to a robbery call on the 400 block of Wistaria Street in Bakersfield.  The victim of the robbery was assaulted by two men who entered the residence and tried to rob him, armed with a handgun and shotgun. The victim suffered a head injury after one of the suspects struck him with the butt of a gun; he was treated at a local hospital. The suspects fled, one on foot, the other in a vehicle. The KCSO Air Support Unit located the suspect vehicle.  Deputies on the ground tried to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield and led deputies on a short pursuit. The suspects were identified as 46-year-old Andrew Munoz and 37-year-old Monica Sepulveda. Munoz was charged with attempted robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and resisting arrest. Sepulveda was charged with felony evading, and conspiracy.
The second male suspect has not been located. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at 661-322-4040. Case#2020-00045682.
