On March 21, 2020, at 10:11 a.m., deputies responded to a call of peace disturbance in the 500 block of Denison Lane. Upon arrival, deputies located a man in the driveway of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 49-year-old Brandon Compton of Bakersfield. The shooter has been identified and interviewed. No arrests have been made at this point and the investigation is ongoing.
