KCMO City Hall and other city facilities closed to the public during COVID-19 declaration

KCMO City Hall and other city facilities closed to the public during COVID-19 declaration
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 23, 2020

Kansas City, Missouri City Hall and all other city facilities will be closed to the general public at least until the current stay-at-home order ends on April 24. The closures begin at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

Interim City Manager Earnest Rouse announced the move on Monday after meeting with department directors and supervisors. The decision comes just days after City Hall underwent a deep cleaning to help limit the potential spread of the coronovirus.

City employees who have been notified to report to work by their department director will still have access to these buildings. All others will have work from home assignments.

Regular pay and benefits will continue as normal for all full-time staff and all current accrued leave balances will not be charged during this event as long as City associates fully comply with the guidelines for COVID-19 leave usage recently distributed by Human Resources.

Even with city buildings being closed, you have several ways to do business with us. We are posting regular updates on our website, where you can track cancellations and any breaking city-related news. You'll also find multiple ways to make online payments, apply for permits, submit building plans, etc.
