As of March 20^th, 2 cases of COVID.19 Virus have been identified in Kinnelon.Both individuals are isolated and recovering well.
The  Kinnelon Borough Health Officials are following all appropriate NJ Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocols in conducting efficient and comprehensive follow up. Be aware that currently, there is no vaccine for COVID-19, so please use common sense hygiene and social distancing practices.

The Kinnelon Health Department reminds all residents to take the following simple precautions to protect themselves and others from respiratory illness:

-Stay home if you are sick or not feeling well.
-Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer with at least a 60% alcohol content.
-Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw that tissue in the trash. If you do not have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
-Limit close contact with individuals who are sick.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
-Avoid handshakes and try an elbow bump instead.
-Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects using manufacturer’s directions.

While the CVC indicated that the risk of infection to the general public remains low, residents showing symptoms of COVID-19 must contact their health care provider. Symptoms include fever of 100.4F,
cough and shortness of breath.
