Last night shortly after 10PM, Fairfield Police Dispatch started receiving calls regarding a disturbance in the 1700 block of North Texas St. The initial call reported an altercation between two males in a parking lot, with one possibly having a knife. As the information developed, officers responded to the location, found evidence an altercation had occurred, but could not find the involved parties.
Within minutes, an officer located the involved parties behind a set of businesses at a different location off Oak St and Fillmore St. At that time officers discovered one of the parties had been run over with a vehicle and was deceased. A knife was located at the scene in the possession of the decedent, who has been identified as a 29-year-old Fairfield resident.
The Investigations Bureau and Traffic Unit were called out to investigate the incident, which at this time has been classified as a homicide. Everyone involved in this unfortunate circumstance has been located and there are no outstanding suspects at this time. Investigators have been able to recover video footage of the incident, which has helped in determining how things unfolded. As of 6PM tonight, the Investigations Bureau has arrested Addias Alonzo Brown (33) of Fairfield for murder. Brown will be booked into the county jail once the necessary paperwork is completed.
