County Officials Issue Safer-At-Home Health Order

Today, the County of Los Angeles issued a safer-at-home order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

The health order, which applies to the city of Temple City, will go into effect tonight at 11:59 p.m. until April 19, according to the county’s announcement.

Officials stressed the order is not shelter-in-place, which requires residents to barricade themselves inside homes. Instead the mandate is safer-at-home, which tells residents to stay at home unless:

  • To engage in outdoor activity with social distancing and without a gathering of more than 10 people.

  • To engage in activities or tasks essential to their health and safety.
  • To obtain essential services or supplies like groceries, household necessities and health care.
  • To care for a family member, friend or neighbor.
The health order can be viewed at templecity.us/healthorder.

County officials will soon release a fact sheet, which will be posted to the city website at templecity.us/coronavirus and shared on the city’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts (@connectwithtc).
