This message is being sent in response to the Shelter in Place order issued by Dr. Mase, The County of Sonoma Public Health Officer, that went into effect at 12:00am yesterday morning.  I am proud and grateful for the compliance and cooperation exhibited by our community.  Together we can stop the spread.

Dr. Mase put a lot of thought into the order and specifically recognized the agricultural nature of our economy in Sonoma County.  Many community members have had questions about the order and I wanted to remind everyone where to go and who to call to get your answers.

The City of Petaluma has shifted to delivering “mission-essential services,” i.e., those related to functions that, directly impact the life safety of the public and/or City staff; and those related to statutes, laws, executive orders, or directives that charge the organization with mandatory responsibilities.   All public-facing City facilities—including City Hall, the Petaluma Community Center, are closed to the public.
