Lancaster Station reminds our residents: Stay alert, don’t become the victim of an opportunity crime!
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station would like to remind our residents to always be aware of their surroundings.
Whether you are getting home from work late at night or getting ready to leave in the early morning hours, be extra cautious as you leave home.
1. Never leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running.
2. If you are sitting in your vehicle waiting for the engine to warm up, lock your car doors and stay alert. Don’t focus on your phone and keep your eye on your surroundings.
3. Don’t fumble with your keys. As you approach your front door, have your keys in hand so that you are not looking down or reaching in your pockets/purse.
Do all you can to protect yourself. Don’t become a victim of a crime of opportunity. And always, if you see something, say something! Report any suspicious activity in your community to Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at (661)948-8466.
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station polices the City of Lancaster, Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, and the unincorporated communities of Antelope Acres, Lake Los Angeles, and Quartz Hill in the Antelope Valley.
