The Moorestown Township COVID-19 update for Wednesday 3/18/2020

The Moorestown Township COVID-19 Update for Wednesday 3/18/2020

While Township employees will continue to work and provide necessary services, we are taking the following actions to minimize unnecessary public contact and interaction.  We further implore residents to adhere to federal, state and local recommendations and actions while we all do our part to get through this unprecedented situation.
Town Hall – Town Hall will be closed to the general public effective March 18th until further notice.  All departments will remain in operation under limited scope of services.  Employees will still be available by phone to assist you where possible.  The building will still receive mail and deliveries.  Residents and contractors may call to arrange appointments for necessary business.  Please call 856-235-0912 for questions and appointments.

  • For tax, water and sewer payments - we encourage people to use the online payment system located on the Township’s website under the Tax Collector department webpage.  Also, people can use the mail drop box located on the face of the building to the right of town hall front doors.  Dog license payments may also be placed in the drop box (the application is located on the Township Website).  Contact 856-914-3008 for tax, water and sewer billing questions.
  • Construction, Planning and Zoning – Inspections will continue under a limited scope.  Life Hazard/Emergency inspections, new residential, commercial and outside inspections will continue.  Staff has been instructed to use their judgment and only access areas that limit public interaction.  That means only essential contractors, homeowners or authorized representatives, necessary for the completion of any inspection should be onsite at the time of the inspection, in an effort to reduce public interaction.  All nonessential interior inspections will be postponed until further notice.  Permit drop off and pick up may be permitted by staff, by appointment only, M-F 9:00 A.M. thru 3:00 P.M.  Please contact 856-914-3018 for more information or to arrange appointments.
  • Access to all other departments and other Township business will be considered on an as needed basis.  Please refer any questions to 856-235-0912.
Department of Parks and Recreation – All programs, athletic facilities, recreation centers, playgrounds, the Dog Park and playing fields are closed until further notice.  While the open area parks, fields and Memorial Track remain open to the public to exercise and enjoy the fresh air, we ask that you practice social distancing and respect the space of others.  Further respect the guidelines of no groups of 10 or more gathering at one time.  Questions, call 856-914-3093.
Public Works – Employees continue to work and provide necessary services although public interaction is limited.  The building is open to restrictive access.  For questions, please call 856-235-3520, select Option #2.
Municipal Court – The March 18th and 25th municipal court sessions to be held at Cinnaminson Township have been postponed.  Customers will be notified by mail of their newly scheduled court date.  Questions, call 856-235-0922
Police Department – Police officers and other employees continue to provide public safety and necessary services.  Building access is restricted.  Records Bureau personnel are available on a limited basis to assist with routine documents (firearms permits, accident reports, etc.) 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Call 856-235-1405 for availability and questions. For non-emergency Police response call 856-234-8300. Call 911 for Emergencies.
Moorestown Library – The Library is closed to the public until further notice. Questions, call 856-234-0333.
Advisory Boards – We have encouraged advisory committee meetings to be cancelled until further notice.  Please check the Township’s website to follow meeting status.
Township Council/Planning Board and Zoning Board Meetings – The Zoning Board scheduled for tonight (3/17) has been cancelled.  The Township Council meeting scheduled for March 23rd is still on but will consist of a limited agenda to handle necessary business.  There will not be a workshop or presentation session.  The Zoning Board session for March 31st and Planning Board session for April 2nd are still on for now, but we ask that you continually check the website for updates on all meetings for changes, cancellations and updates.

The Township of Moorestown is continually monitoring events and appropriately responding as necessary.  This is a fluid event and we ask the public to be patient and understanding as we endeavor to remain vigilant and proactive in protecting our employees and the public.
