Advisory

Please click link for tips on social distancing, info on Governor's Exec. Ord. 104, & virtual Town services available

With confirmed cases of Coronavirus here in Morris County, we anticipate cases may unfortunately develop in Boonton, and we expect to see an increase in cases regionally as well as across the country. All of us must take measures to protect ourselves, our neighbors, and the most vulnerable in our community.

Please remember that if you are feeling sick, call your primary care physician first instead of going to the emergency room. The best thing residents can continue to do is to practice social distancing, diligent hand washing, and most importantly, stay home if you are sick. The State of New Jersey has opened a pubic hotline for general questions regarding COVID-19 at 1-800-962-1253 or 1-800-222-1222.

Also, the Governor has issued Executive Order No. 104 implementing aggressive social distancing measures to mitigate further spread of COVID-19 in New Jersey. Among the directives, Governor Murphy’s Executive Order indefinitely closes all public and private preschool, elementary and secondary schools, and institutions of higher education, as well as closes all casinos, racetracks, gyms, movie theaters, and performing arts centers. The order also mandates that all non-essential retail, recreational, and entertainment businesses must cease daily operations from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. All restaurant establishments, with or without a liquor license, are limited to offering only delivery and/or take out-services only, both during daytime hours and after 8 pm. For more information on the Executive Order please visit: https://nj.gov/governor/news/news/562020/approved/20200316c.shtml

All workplaces are strongly encouraged to implement and observe CDC workplace social distancing measures, such as replacing in-person meetings with teleworking, modifying, postponing, or cancelling mass gatherings.

To help our residents avoid unnecessary interaction with the public, below are ways residents can conduct Town business without face-to-face contact. Please consider using these resources as an alternative to visiting Town Hall in person. Those experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus, such as fever, shortness of breath, and cough, will not be permitted in any public building.
