To ensure continued operations of the Municipal Offices and operations and to reduce risk of exposure of the general public the Town will immediately implement the following operational changes until April 20, 2020. Adjustments and changes to policy may need to be revised as the situation evolves.

It is important to understand that the Town will remain operational and will be taking all measures to ensure Emergency Response is available when called upon and Town Infrastructure remain functioning. We encourage residents and businesses to conduct business over the phone and by email whenever possible to reduce the risk of exposure. There is a drop box outside of the Town Clerk’s office located at 51 Depot Square which will be checked business days.

Public Meetings:

The following public meetings will be postponed:
• Planning Commission Hearings and Meetings
• Development Review Board Hearings and Meetings
• Design Advisory Committee Meetings
• Cemetery Commission Meetings
• Housing Board of Review and Landlord Exchange meetings
• All committee meetings including but not limited to:
o Beautification Committee
o Energy Committee
o Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee
o Tax Stabilization Committee

The Select Board Meetings will be conducted using video and/or phone conferencing and Agenda items will be reduced to essential functions only. The Secretary of State is reviewing requirements for public meeting participation and we will ensure that we remain compliant with those laws.

Access to Town Offices:

We strongly encourage all business to be conducted via phone, email or mail. All Town offices will currently remain open for business. The Town Clerk’s office will remain open for walk in business through Wednesday of this week and will reassess at that point. We encourage residents to use the mail or drop box to make payments.
The Town Manager’s office including the Zoning office will be open regular hours by phone or email, and available in person by appointment only.

Department of Public Works, Police, Fire and Dispatch offices are open by phone or email, and available in person by appointment only.

Code Compliance and Reappraisal Inspections:

The Code Compliance Office will suspend all scheduled proactive housing unit inspections until further notice. Health and Emergency related work will be conducted on a case by case basis.
The Town’s reappraisal contractor will be suspending all interior inspections. They will continue to follow up with work to conduct exterior inspections and assessment of completed permit work which can be completed without entering a building.
