Please be advised that the NPD Front Lobby will be closed to Public Access until further notice. You will still be able to report an emergency using 9-1-1 and to report non-emergency issues using (415) 897-4361 during business hours.  After business hours, you may also report non-emergency issues using (415) 897-1122.

We will also be making modifications to our existing patrol practices to address the concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19.  The safety of our community and our personnel remains our top priority. 

Each call for service will be individually evaluated to determine our response.  This evaluation will include questions about symptoms of illness that you or other involved persons may be exhibiting.  We are asking ALL callers this information in an effort to identify how to best respond and minimize exposure to our employees so we can continue to provide public safety service to our community.

In some instances, instead of responding to your home or business, you may be asked to complete an online police report (novatopolice.org) or to speak with an officer on the phone.  Our officers may ask you to meet them outside and are encouraged to practice ‘social distancing’ (maintaining a safe distance during interactions) and wearing personal protective equipment to include face masks, eye protection and/or gloves.

We encourage everyone to join our efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 and follow the recommendations of public health professionals (see below).
