Clinton Township closes Civic Center until April 6 CLINTON TOWNSHIP – To slow the spread of COVID-19, the Clinton Township Civic Center will close its doors beginning Tuesday, March 17, while continuing to provide essential services to customers by phone, online, through email, and the regular mail. “Our goal is to minimize person-to-person contact, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends,“ said Supervisor Bob Cannon. “Temporarily reducing staff and working remotely where possible allows us to protect both our employees and residents from the coronavirus,” he said. Cannon said the expectation is to reopen the Civic Center to the public on Monday, April 6. “Slowing the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus is calling for action that is unprecedented,” said Cannon. “I’m confident our department directors will do their best to deliver essential public services with the health and safety of our residents in mind.” The CDC and the Michigan Dept. of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recommends avoiding close contact with people who are sick and to distance yourself from people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.
