St. Johnsbury Police Department Changes Method of Response

Message from Chief Tim Page:

The St. Johnsbury Police Department and Dispatch Center are doing everything they can to stay healthy and have modified some of their responses so they can continue to provide Emergency Services. These actions are further designed with the concerns of the public’s wellness.

We have changed a couple of ways we are going to provide those services in order to limit some face to face interaction in an effort to reduce the chances of cross contamination involving COVID-19.

First, be assured that we will continue to respond when the immediacy is apparent so please continue to call 911 in the event of an emergency. In those instances where an immediate response is not necessary, we ask for your cooperation in notifying us via telephone so we can assess the needs associated with your concerns. If you prefer you may leave an email address for the officer to correspond with you. We urge everyone to call rather than come to the Police Department to speak with an officer. We are hoping to reduce the amount of traffic in and out of the building.

We have also temporarily suspended civil fingerprinting appointments.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation as we work together to get through this pandemic.
