Advisory

please click the link for Twp. Services affected by COVID-19. Updates will be sent as deemed necessary.

From Robert Cannon, Supervisor, The dynamic and rapid events surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus has led the Township to take a course of action with the health and safety of our residents in mind. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Michigan Dept. of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the best way to prevent illnesses is to avoid close contact with people who are sick and to put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. At this point, there are no reported or confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Clinton Township, but we are taking the following steps as a precaution. Until further notice, the Department of Public Works personnel will not enter homes to provide service and will observe the CDC’s 6-foot distance recommendation when communicating in person with the public. The Clerk’s Office is suspending passport processing until April 1 and will reevaluate a startup date at that time. The Treasurer’s office will remain open to accept payments at the counter in the Civic Center. For safety and convenience, customers can utilize our online and IVR (phone) payment systems. E-check payments are free, credit and debit cards incur a 2.8% service fee charged by our vendor. Access the payment page at https://clintontownship.com/bill-payments.html. The Building Department is limiting some inspections. Call with questions regarding setting up your inspection. The Water Department has canceled all water meter replacement appointments for the week of March 16 through March 20. A decision about further cancelations will be communicated on Monday, March 16. All other Water & Sewer customer services are business as usual. Parks & Recreation has canceled all programs and services until April 6, after which an evaluation about future events will be made. The Senior Center will remain closed until April 6. In the meantime, buses are traveling for essential services only. A Senior Center hotline is available for up-to-date information at 586-723-8127. The Senior Center is taking phone calls to transact business, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No training or educational seminars with large groups will take place in meeting rooms. The Civic Center Park restrooms will remain open and will be disinfected once per day. Civil Service employment applications should be printed, filled out, and returned via email to [email protected]. Current job postings and the employment application are available at www.clintontownship/employment. As other services are affected by the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, this list will be updated.
