Effective immediately if a call for service can be handled by telephone, the officer will contact the victim/complainant by telephone. 
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Pekin Police Department will be making some changes in how we respond to calls. Effective immediately if the call can be handled by a telephone call (teleservice), the officer will contact the victim/complainant by telephone to obtain the necessary information to complete a report and/or answer questions.
We will continue to staff the Pekin Police front desk. However, when a person comes to the front desk for police business they will be addressed in the foyer area and the drawer will be used to exchanged paper.
This change is out of an abundance of caution and an attempt to limit potential exposure of the COVID-19 virus to our public safety personnel.
