Special Weather Statement for Monterey County, CA 
Northern Salinas Valley/Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley- A STRONG THUNDERSTORM. At 356 PM PDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Gonzales, or 18 miles southeast of Salinas, moving west at 10 mph. This storm is bringing heavy rain and possible pea size hail. This storm will be near Soledad around 405 PM PDT. Gonzales and Chualar around 430 PM PDT. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
