Homicide Investigators have arrested and charged a local man for the stabbing death of a wheelchair bound man.

Investigators say that 67-year-old Dewitt Hankins, stabbed 47-year-old Christopher Graham , after the two men argued.

On March 3, 2020, at approximately 3:20 PM, Harris County Sheriff's Office District 2 patrol deputies responded to the Knightsbridge Apartments, located at 3455 FM 1960 W., in reference to an adult male who was found deceased as he sat in a wheelchair on a walkway in the complex.

deputies arrived and found the male suffered multiple stab wounds. Witnesses described seeing the victim arguing with the suspect shortly before his death.

While investigators were still on the scene, a witness flagged down a patrol deputy in the 100 block of Remington Bend Dr.

The witness pointed out Hankins walking down the street and advised he is the person who stabbed Graham to death.

Hankins was detained and transported to the Homicide Unit Office where he confessed to the murder.

The knife used in the stabbing was also recovered.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office Major Offenders Unit accepted the charge of murder on Hankins. He is currently awaiting arraignment in the Harris County Sheriff's Office Detention facility.
