Request for information in Bakersfield homicide

On 10/25/19, deputies were dispatched to the area of Niles Street and Normandy Drive in Bakersfield to a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they located 29-year-old Gerardo Chocoteco suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in this investigation. Attached is a photo of the victim.

On October 25, 2019, at about 12:01 a.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4000 block of Niles Street in Bakersfield for a victim of a shooting.
Deputies located an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Deputies located a second victim of a shooting on the center median of Niles Street. The adult man was not breathing, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No arrests have been made. Homicide detectives are investigating.
