The suspect involved in the fatal hit and run that occurred February 8th, 2020 at approximately 12:30 am on 15th Street West and Rancho Vista Boulevard, turned himself into authorities at the Palmdale Sheriff Station on Monday 02-24-2020.
 
On February 8th, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Palmdale Station deputies responded to 15th Street West and Rancho Vista Boulevard regarding a hit and run traffic collision.

Preliminary information gathered at the scene reported a motorcycle (the victim) was driving southbound on 15th Street West through a green light at Rancho Vista Boulevard when a green Honda Civic (the suspect), who driving westbound on Rancho Vista Boulevard, ran the red light at the intersection and collided into the victim’s motorcycle.   

Following the collision, the suspect driving the Honda Civic fled the location on foot. A search of the area was conducted but was unsuccessful.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
The suspect has been identified as Hector Lara, 26, of Palmdale. He is being held on a $50,000 bond for felony hit and run.
